What is logistics?

Logistics is the collective term for everything to do with organizing, planning, controlling and executing the shipment of goods.

Jobs in logistics

Within logistics there are many different directions you can go. For example, you can work as a logistics worker, forklift driver, warehouse worker, order picker, production worker or reach truck driver. All positions are important to keep the work going well.

In logistics, you work together with many colleagues. Together you make sure everything runs smoothly. Here's how:

Loading and unloading:

Loaders and unloaders work together to remove goods from truck

Transportation in the warehouse:

The forklift driver and reach truck driver take the goods to the right place in the warehouse.

Distribution of goods:

As a warehouse worker, you distribute goods throughout the warehouse.

Preparing orders:

Together with the order picker, you complete orders.

In this process, you are an important link. Together with your colleagues, you make sure the goods get to the right place.

Development and training at UBN

Working in logistics often does not require training. Sometimes employers ask for a VCA certificate. Want to drive a forklift or reach truck? Then you need a certificate. If you do not yet have one, no problem. Our motto is: what you can't do yet, you can learn!
