What is logistics?

Logistics is the umbrella term for everything related to organizing, planning, managing, and carrying out the shipment of goods.

Logistics Positions

There are many different career paths you can pursue in logistics. For example, you can work as a logistics associate, forklift operator, warehouse associate, order picker, production worker, or reach truck operator. All of these roles are important to ensuring that operations run smoothly.

In logistics, you work alongside many colleagues. Together, you make sure everything runs smoothly. Here’s how it works:

Loading and unloading:

The loaders and unloaders work together to unload goods from the truck

Transport within the warehouse:

The forklift operator and reach truck operator transport the goods to the correct location in the warehouse.

Distribution of goods:

As a warehouse worker, you'll distribute the goods throughout the warehouse.

Preparing orders:

You'll work with the order picker to fulfill orders.

You play a key role in this process. Together with your coworkers, you ensure that the goods end up in the right place.

Professional Development and Training at UBN
