Reservations

As a temporary worker, you are entitled to vacation days, vacation pay and short-term leave. You build up these reserves over all hours worked (except overtime). But what exactly are reservations? A reservation is a percentage of your salary that is set aside. You can compare it to a kind of piggy bank. The piggy bank is filled with a percentage of your gross hourly wage. If you take a day off, you still receive your salary.

Types of reservations

So, in short, you save part of your pay for vacation days, vacation pay and short-term absence. These are called reservations. Below we explain the different types of reservations.

Brief absence:

By short-term absence, we mean that you are temporarily absent from work for a short period of time. For example, a doctor's or dentist's appointment. As a temporary employee, you receive a small percentage of your wages to compensate for these hours. So you still get paid if you arrive an hour late or stop earlier for an appointment.

Vacations:

Every employee, including you as a temporary worker, is entitled to vacation days. These are days when you don't work, but still receive your pay. For every hour worked, you build up a little bit for your vacation days. This way you have a piggy bank for when you want to take a day off. Whether you go on vacation for a week or just take a day off to relax, you still get paid.

Vacation pay:

In addition to your regular pay, you also accrue vacation pay. Vacation pay is intended to pay for your vacation. At UBN, your vacation pay is automatically credited to your bank account once a year. This occurs in the first week of June.

Disbursement of reservations

Upon termination of your contract, all accrued reserves are paid out at once. At UBN, this is six weeks after your last day of work. This means you always get the money you are entitled to, even if you stop working.

At UBN, we think it's important that you know exactly how your salary is structured. The amount of your accrued reserves can be found on your pay slip. Please note that these are gross amounts.

Feel free to ask your contact person for further explanation if you don't understand something. That way you always know where you stand. So you can work and enjoy your days off with peace of mind.
