Customize your resume
Tailor your resume to the specific job you are applying for. Be sure to highlight relevant skills, work experience and accomplishments that match the job requirements. Clear, concise and uncluttered formatting is also important.
Prepare well for a job application
Before you apply, it is important to learn about the company and the person with whom you will have the interview. That way, you can show during the interview that you are interested and enthusiastic. Take the time to look up the company, check out their website and review their social media accounts. This way you can ask relevant questions during the interview and make a good impression. Above all, make sure you are aware of their vision, mission and the services they offer. Make sure you do your homework!
Be on time
Come. On. Time. For some, this is easier said than done... However, it is incredibly important! It's best to get there about 10 minutes early. So check in advance where you need to be and how to get there. It's also helpful to schedule some extra time so you don't have to rush and can arrive peacefully. If you are in danger of being late for the job interview, for example because of a public transport delay, call to let us know. It happens to everyone from time to time.
Be professional and show self-confidence
Dress appropriately for the job interview. During the interview, be confident, but don't overdo it. Maintain good body language and make eye contact. Also, be friendly and polite to everyone you meet during the process, including the receptionist or other employees.
Ask questions of your own
It is essential to ask questions yourself. This way you really show how interested you are in the position, the company and your interviewer. Ask questions about duties, the work atmosphere or expectations.
End with a question
Usually at the end the question is asked, "Do you have any questions?" or "Is there anything else you want to know from us?". Take advantage of this opportunity! Make an impression by saving a powerful and original question until the last moment, or show guts and ask directly about the next steps in the interview process.
Follow up after the application on
Send a thank-you bill or e-mail within 24 hours of the interview to show your appreciation for the opportunity to apply. This shows your genuine interest in the position and your commitment to the process.
Stay positive and don't give up
The application process can sometimes take a long time and you may receive a number of rejections before you receive an offer. Don't get discouraged and stay positive. Use any rejections as learning opportunities and keep working on improving your job application skills.
