Operator

As an Operator at Nedal Aluminium in Utrecht, you will be part of the extrusion department. The process involves heating aluminum and pressing it through a die. This creates specific shapes such as tubes, profiles, and sheets used in various industries. When you start as an operator at Nedal, we offer you the following:

• Salary (in accordance with the Metalektro Collective Bargaining Agreement) starting at €16.91 gross per hour, including a 16% shift allowance. Salary is negotiable, depending on age and experience.
• Full-time position, with the possibility of a permanent contract.
• You can enjoy 25 days of vacation and a 5% reduction in working hours. This amounts to 13 extra days off in a 40-hour workweek, helping to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
• Travel allowance is provided for distances of 5 kilometers or more.

In the extrusion department, you will perform various tasks to produce profiles using the press. As an operator, you will operate different machines to stretch profiles and cut them to size. Your responsibilities also include:

• Inspecting profiles for straightness, dimensions, and damage
• Installing dies
• Training and development for operating the press drive

The operator role starts with a two-shift schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Later, it changes to a three-shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

In this role, you will work in a dynamic, machine-driven environment. You must be comfortable with machine noise and direct communication with colleagues. We are looking for someone who:

• Preferably has a technical degree or relevant work experience in a similar role
• Is ambitious and wants to become a well-rounded press operator
• Holds a Vapro diploma, forklift or reach truck certification, or VCA certification—these are a plus but not required
