- Paycheck one day later
Pentecost falls on Sunday and Monday. These are official holidays. As a result, many organizations will be closed. UBN Employment Agency will also be closed on those days.
We usually enter the hours on Monday. You will then receive your paycheck on Tuesday. Since we will be closed next Monday, we will enter the hours on Tuesday. You will therefore receive your paycheck on Wednesday.
- Friday, May 29: Available by phone only
All UBN branches will be closed on Friday, May 29. However, we will be available by phone on a limited basis that day.

- Do you pay more tax on your overtime?
Many temporary workers think you pay more tax on your overtime. That’s not true. Your overtime falls into the same tax bracket as your regular salary.
So why does it seem like you end up with less money after working overtime? That’s because of the tax credits you receive on your regular pay, such as the general tax credit and the earned income tax credit. Because of these credits, you pay less tax on your regular salary. You usually don’t receive this extra credit—or receive less of it—on your overtime pay. As a result, it seems as though more tax is being deducted. In reality, your overtime pay is taxed at the standard rate, and you actually receive the credit on your regular salary.
You may have overpaid payroll taxes. In that case, you can claim a refund from the IRS through your tax return. The amount you receive depends on your personal situation. Sometimes you may actually have to pay a little extra. That’s why it’s a good idea to file a tax return every year.

On Monday, April 27, we celebrate King’s Day in the Netherlands. It is an official holiday on which most organizations are closed. UBN Employment Agency was also closed on this day. Normally, we enter your hours every Monday, and you receive your paycheck on Tuesday. Since we are closed next Monday, we are entering your hours today (Tuesday, April 28), and you will receive your paycheck on Wednesday, April 29.

- New UBN app
UBN has a new app! With this app, you can easily manage many things on your own. For example, you can view your leave balance and pay stubs, check and update your personal information, and more. UBN can also easily send you messages, such as updates about your work or pay. (So be sure to allow the app to send you notifications!)
We’ll also be rolling out new features soon, but we’ll share more details about those later. (These include a clearer overview and additional options for managing things on your own.)

- Reminder: New collective bargaining agreement effective January 1, 2026
The new collective bargaining agreement for temporary workers will take effect on January 1, 2026. This agreement introduces several improvements, including:
- Equal pay. This means that your salary and benefits are more in line with those of employees who work directly for the company.
- Improved pension plan. We’re focusing more on your pension so you’ll be better prepared for the future.

- New Collective Bargaining Agreement: Extra vacation hours and accumulated short-term absences
Starting January 1, 2026, a new collective bargaining agreement for temporary workers will take effect. As a result, some terms and conditions of employment will change. One of the consequences of this is that (above-statutory) vacation hours and accrued short-term absences will be handled differently.
So what does this mean for you?
All accrued extra vacation hours and short-term absence hours will be paid out to you at the end of 2025. Would you prefer to take these hours as time off? That’s possible, but only in consultation with UBN and the company where you work.
Equal Pay
Under the new collective bargaining agreement, you will receive the same terms and conditions of employment as permanent employees at the company where you work. This means that, starting in 2026, your extra vacation hours and other benefits will be determined by the rules of the company where you work (such as their own collective bargaining agreement or employment policy).

- New collective bargaining agreement for temporary workers
A new collective bargaining agreement for temporary workers will take effect on January 1, 2026. The new agreement provides for better terms regarding work, income, and retirement. It also offers greater clarity and certainty regarding your employment situation.
The pay is a key change: if you work for a company through UBN (or another staffing agency), your pay must be the same as that of people doing the same or similar work at that company. The specifics may vary slightly, but the total amount is the same.
The pension plan is also changing. Starting January 1, 2026, you will start accruing more pension.

On Monday, May 5, we celebrate Liberation Day in the Netherlands. On this national holiday, we commemorate the liberation of the Netherlands from German occupation in 1945 and reflect on the great value of freedom, democracy, and human rights. Many collective bargaining agreements grant employees the day off.
UBN Employment Agency will also be closed on that day. Normally, we enter your hours every Monday, and you receive your paycheck on Tuesday. Since we are closed next Monday, we will enter your hours on Tuesday, and you will receive your paycheck on Wednesday (May 7).

- Help a friend find a job!

- Sick Leave Policy Updated
If you’re sick and can’t work, that’s obviously very frustrating. If you’re sick, you should always call UBN directly. (Always do this before 9:00 a.m. or—if you work shifts—before 4:00 p.m.) While you’re sick, Acture will stay in touch with you via text messages and scheduled calls. Always respond to these, otherwise they may cancel your sick leave. You can read exactly what you need to do and what your rights and obligations are in the updated sick leave policy.

- Payday on Tuesday
Christmas is almost here. On December 25 and 26, not only will UBN be closed, but the banks will be closed as well. Are you used to getting your paycheck on Wednesdays? If so, you’ll receive it on Tuesday instead. (That’s one day earlier.) That’s a nice bonus so close to the holidays!

- New confirmation of broadcast
When you started, you signed an employment contract and a “confirmation of assignment.” This confirmation includes details such as your Function your salary. It should also list any other terms and conditions Function to your Function . Unfortunately, this wasn’t always done correctly. We apologize for that. Just to be clear: the salary you received was always paid correctly. We simply should have included a bit more information about the terms of employment on the confirmation.
We have emailed you a new, more detailed “broadcast confirmation.” It now includes all the agreements we have made. Would you please be so kind as to digitally sign this new “broadcast confirmation”? That way, we can be sure you are fully informed and have received all the necessary information. We hope you continue to enjoy working for UBN for a long time to come, or that you look back fondly on your time at UBN.

- Change to the pension plan
We would like to inform you about a change to your pension plan. You are currently accruing pension benefits under StiPP’s basic plan. As of January 1, 2024, you will transition to the Plus Plan. What does this mean for you? You are currently accruing 7.4% of your pensionable salary. This is the contribution rate associated with StiPP’s basic plan. Under the Plus Plan, you will accrue 12% in pension contributions. This means you will accrue more pension. We will pay two-thirds of this amount, and you will pay the remainder yourself.
