Machine Operator

Imagine this: you walk in and all around you see books. Piles of books, in different shapes and sizes. Does this sound like a dream? Great! For our client in Zoetermeer we are looking for reinforcement for the bindery team as a machine operator. You help to make library and school books more sustainable.

We offer a gross monthly salary of € 2,275.- Your salary will grow with more responsibility (€ 14.00 gross per hour). With good performance there is even a prospect of permanent employment.

Furthermore, we offer:

• Varied working hours (07:00-15:00, 08:00-16:00 and 10:00-18:00);
• Ability to work with various machines;
• Full-time hours, 37.5 hours per week;
• A travel allowance.

If you travel by public transportation, the client will reimburse your full cost. Do you travel by car, bicycle or on foot? Then you will receive €0.21 per km. 

When the books come in, someone unwraps them and gives them a hard cardboard cover. This way the books last longer. All the books they will plastify and provide with various labels. After the necessary checks, they finally leave the house packed in boxes. During this process, quality is paramount.

In the factory there are several machines that you will operate. As a machine operator you adjust the machines correctly. You make sure everything keeps running smoothly. Then you bind and laminate the books. Then you stack the books. 

A background in graphics is nice for this position. This is not a requirement.

As a machine operator, your duties include:

• Pre- and post-cutting of book blocks;
• Cutting printed matter;
• Folding sheets;
• You will assist in other teams within the bindery as needed. 

For the machine operator position, we are looking for someone who recognizes the following:

• You have experience operating machinery;
• You are eager to learn and pick up work quickly;
• You have a command of the Dutch language in spoken and written language;
• You work very accurately;
• You have a critical eye for your own work and that of your colleagues.
