Machine operator

Imagine this: you walk in and see books everywhere around you. Stacks of books in all shapes and sizes. Does this sound like a dream? Great! We’re looking for a machine operator to join the binding team at our client’s facility in Zoetermeer. You’ll help make library and school books more durable.

We offer a gross monthly salary of €2,275 based on a 37.5-hour workweek (€14.00 gross per hour). Your salary will increase as you take on more responsibility. If your performance is satisfactory, there is even the possibility of a permanent position.
We also offer:

• Flexible working hours (7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, and 10:00 AM–6:00 PM).
• The ability to work with different machines.
• Full-time hours, 37.5 hours per week.
• Travel expenses.
• Are you traveling by public transportation? If so, the client will reimburse your full expenses. Are you coming by car, bike, or on foot? If so, you’ll receive €0.21 per kilometer.

When the books arrive, someone unpacks them and fits them with a sturdy cardboard cover. This helps the books last longer. All books are laminated and labeled. After undergoing the necessary checks, they are packed into boxes and finally shipped out.Quality is our top priority throughout this process. 

The factory is equipped with various machines that you will be operating. As a machine operator, you will adjust the machines correctly. You will ensure that everything runs smoothly. Next, you will bind the books and laminate them. After that, you will stack the books. 

A graphic background would be a Function bonus for this Function . It is not a requirement.

As a machine operator, your responsibilities will include:

• Trimming and re-trimming book blocks.
• Cutting printed materials.
• Folding sheets.
• You will assist other teams in the bindery as needed. 

For the Machine Function we are looking for someone who identifies with the following:

• You have experience operating machinery.
• You are eager to learn and pick up new tasks quickly.
• You are fluent in spoken and written Dutch.
• You work very carefully.
• You take a critical look at your own work and that of your colleagues.
