Logistics employee evening/night

In the Logistics Assistant position, you will have the following terms of employment:

• Gross hourly salary of 13.68 (monthly salary of 2,333 euros at 40 hours/week);
• Surcharges of 8.75%, 11.25% and 50%;
• ATV of 3.5 days per year (for full-time employment);
• Travel reimbursement
• Working hours: 16:00 - 22:45 and 23:00 - 07:30 ( no day shifts )

Wages do not include reservations (8.33% vacation pay and 16.66 vacation days per month).

The client is a parcel delivery company throughout the Netherlands and Europe. This position is based at the HUB at Amsterdam Westpoort. From here parcels are mainly collected and sorted for the province of North Holland. The delivery is done during the day, your work will take place in the evening and nights.

Some of the work you will be involved with as a logistician are:

• Unloading: you receive the parcels from the truck and place them on the conveyor belt. You do this leaving the sticker visible to the scanner (so never place it on the underside). you have to deal with different parcels (big, small, round, light and heavy). The average weight of a parcel is approximately between 3 kg and 5 kg. Sometimes you have outliers up to 20 kg to 25 kg. You can then ask a colleague to help you.

• Sorting: Once the packages are scanned by the sorting system they are transported to different places in the HUB. When you are sorting, your job is to place the packages at the delivery person's door by looking at the sticker. This indicates where a package belongs.

• Loading: Finally, packages may also have a destination outside the province of North Holland. These packages must be collected in another HUB. Your job is to load these packages into the truck. You do this by stacking them and building walls until the truck is full.

As you have read, most tasks are performed manually and are physical in nature. It is therefore very important to take this into account and to lift in the right way.

Scheduling: If you work full-time you will work one week in the evening shift (16:30 - 22:45) and the other week in the night shift (23:00 - 07:30). Every Friday, UBN will confirm your schedule by email or via the scheduling app on your phone.

There are not many strict requirements for the position of logistics assistant. Nevertheless, we think the requirements below are important:

• Punctual and able to keep appointments.
• You are able to perform physical work and have no difficulty walking.
• Flexibility is important.
• A good command of Dutch and/or English (instruction and safety)
• Good communication with us so that neither of us are surprised.

Having your own transportation is not a must but recommended. The location in Amsterdam Westpoort is difficult to reach by public transportation, especially if your travel distance is too great.
