Logistics Associate (Evening/Night Shift)

As a Function , you will receive the following benefits:

• Gross hourly wage of €13.68 (monthly salary of €2,333 based on a 40-hour workweek);
• Surcharges of 8.75%, 11.25%, and 50%;
• 3.5 days of annual leave per year (for full-time employees);
• Travel Expense Reimbursement
• Working hours: 4:00 PM – 10:45 PM and 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (no day shifts)

Wages do not include accruals (8.33% vacation pay and 16.66 vacation days per month).

The client is a parcel delivery company operating throughout the Netherlands and Europe. This Function at the HUB in Amsterdam . From this location, parcels are primarily collected and sorted for the province of North Holland. While deliveries are made during the day, your work will take place in the evenings and at night.

Some of the tasks you will handle as a logistics associate include:

• Unloading:You unload the packages from the truck and place them on the conveyor belt. When doing so, make sure the label is visible to the scanner (so never place them on the bottom). You will handle various types of packages (large, small, round, light, and heavy). The average weight of a package is between 3 kg and 5 kg. Occasionally, you may encounter packages weighing up to 20 kg to 25 kg. In such cases, you can ask a coworker to help you.

• Sorting: Oncethe packages have been scanned by the sorting system, they are transported to various locations within the HUB. If you are sorting packages, your job is to place them at the delivery person’s door by checking the label. The label indicates where each package belongs.

• Loading: Finally,some packages may be destined for locations outside the province of North Holland. These packages must be collected at a different hub. It is your job to load these packages onto the truck. You do this by stacking them and building walls until the truck is full.

As you have read, most tasks are performed manually and are physically demanding. It is therefore very important to keep this in mind and to lift properly.

Schedule:If you’re working full-time, you’ll work the evening shift (4:30 PM – 10:45 PM) one week and the night shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) the next. Every Friday, UBN will confirm your schedule via email or through the scheduling app on your phone.

There aren't many strict requirements for the Function assistant Function . However, we consider the following requirements to be important:

• Punctuality and the ability to keep commitments.
• You are able to perform physical work and have no difficulty walking.
• Flexibility is important.
• Proficiency in Dutch and/or English (instruction and safety)
• Good communication with us, so that neither of us is caught off guard.

Having your own transportation isn't a must, but it is recommended. The location in Amsterdam is difficult to reach by public transportation, especially if you're traveling a long distance.
